Luoni’s research system addresses socio-environmental development challenges in watershed urbanism, low-impact development, big-box urbanism, transit-oriented development, context-sensitive street design, the five American urbanisms, arboreal urbanism, and agricultural urbanism.

Unlike many software programs that digest and offer data to determine design practices, Luoni’s model incorporates thinking that takes the delivery of both urban and ecological practices into consideration, then incorporates the necessary human factor.
