As part of Construction Safety Week, the Building Talent Foundation (BTF) partnered with NextWave Safety Solutions to make safety training resources available to job seekers in the home building trades.

NextWave Safety Solutions is an integrated safety solutions company working to innovate risk management, workforce training, and analytics through technology. The organization’s goal is to develop technology to mitigate project risk, reduce workplace incidents, and drive productivity.

The proprietary NextWave Learning Management System (LMS) incorporates virtual reality technology to provide an immersive learning experience. Through the partnership, BTF will be able to build a library of training resources through its education partners on the JobstoBuild platform to help job seekers advance their skills and career opportunities.

“Jobsite safety is a critical component to our mission of creating a sustainable workforce of skilled, well-trained, and happy employees in the home building industry,” says Branka Minic, CEO of BTF. “NextWave’s LMS is a foundational piece of technology infrastructure that will enable BTF to provide access to structured training tracks to our candidates.”

Minic says the training tracks will enable BTF candidates to learn about different opportunities in the industry and build the skills necessary to compete for highly sought-after opportunities in order to advance their careers.

“We’re proud to be working with BTF to help them achieve their goal of expanding the home building workforce,” says Lorenzo Gallo, founder and CEO of NextWave Safety. “By engaging with the LMS on the JobstoBuild platform, job seekers can obtain critical safety skills and certifications, which makes them more attractive to employers.”

BTF was established by 20 leading home building companies and is committed to building a sustainable residential construction workforce. The organization’s mission is to advance the education, training, and career progression of young people and people from underrepresented groups as skilled technical workers and business owners in residential construction.

BTF has recently entered partnerships with SkillPointe Foundation, the Southern Careers Institute in Texas, M.T. Copeland Technologies, the Painting Contractors Association, StrataTech Education Group, the Floor Covering Education Foundation, and Friendly House to provide career coaching and job placement services to students involved with each organization.
