Timeless and elegant hues continue to be the theme for 2026 color picks. From Benjamin Moore’s Silhouette to Owen Corning’s Evergreen Mist, these five colors feel familiar and classic.

James Hardie’s Iron Gray

James Hardie Building Projects announced Iron Gray as its 2026 Color of the Year. The bold neutral color is from the Statement Collection product line and provides a dramatic yet elegant look for home exteriors.

“Color has the power to amplify a home’s architectural voice,” says Samara Toole, chief marketing officer of James Hardie. “With Iron Gray, we wanted a color that is expressive yet grounded, one that complements strong lines and invites highlight trims to pop. It’s exactly the kind of color homeowners and professionals are asking for–bold yet timeless.”

Iron Gray couples well with crisp accents, such as Hardie Trim in Arctic White (pictured above), for a clean architectural contrast that elevates curb appeal. It can also create a contemporary, monochromatic statement when paired with matching Iron Gray trim.

Benjamin Moore’s Silhouette

A mix of deep espresso hues and subtle charcoal, Silhouette AF-655 is Benjamin Moore’s 2026 Color of the Year choice. The hue is inspired by a modern take on classic suiting, Benjamin Moore says.

“The connection between fashion and interiors has always been a source of inspiration but this year in particular, we’ve noticed a renewed interest in suiting and classic silhouettes; the resurgence of timeless pieces; and the growing interest in the brown color family,” says Andrea Magno, director, color marketing and design at Benjamin Moore.

“Silhouette embodies these qualities with its depth and luxurious blend of burnt umber and delicate charcoal undertones. Like a perfectly tailored suit, this hue has the versatility and softness to bring space from expected to exceptional.” Complemented by seven hues from the Benjamin Moore Color Trends 2026 palette, the group is easily layered to create a graceful balance of pales and midtones.

Owens Corning’s Evergreen Mist

Owens Corning chose Evergreen Mist as its 2026 Shingle Color of the Year. The color captures the quiet beauty of a mist-covered garden path while offering distinctive character that can complement a variety of home exteriors.

“Evergreen Mist is a refreshing take on green that is versatile, whether it’s perfectly paired with a cream-colored low country farmhouse, a New England cape cod, or a coastal cottage,” says Stephanie Ball, senior marketing manager at Owens Corning.

Continually curating its TruDefinition Duration Designer shingle line, Owens Corning evaluates emerging color trends across a range of home and lifestyle categories. Owens Corning noticed the growth of green tones across a vast range of home, garden, and lifestyle categories, which prompted the creation of the bold new color.
