Davidson Homes has announced it has expanded into Iowa Colony, a growing city south of Houston. The Huntsville, Alabama–based builder entered the Houston market in April and has now secured more than 550 lots across eight communities, which includes an initial 61 lots at the resort-style Sierra Vista community.
“Sierra Vista is a beautiful, lifestyle-focused development that will help meet strong demand from home buyers in the Houston area,” says Adam Davidson, founder, president, and CEO of Davidson Homes. “Texas is an important part of our Southeast strategy of rapid yet sustainable expansion, and Sierra Vista is a perfect fit for Davidson Homes’ mission of offering quality, affordable homes in desirable communities.”
Situated along the Highway 288 corridor, Sierra Vista is located about 20 minutes south of downtown Houston, providing an easy commute to work, shopping, dining, and leisure activities. The development is close to the Pearland Town Center regional shopping mall, and the employment hubs of Houston Medical Center and Lake Jackson.
Sierra Vista will feature a lagoon with white-sand beaches, a clubhouse, a splash pad for children, a kayak launch, a celebration lawn, paddleboarding, and a resort-sized swimming pool. The lagoon will provide a focal point for the community, emphasizing the amenity and lifestyle benefits for residents.
Davidson Homes will offer homes at Sierra Vista starting in the low $300,000s, with square footage ranging from 1,875 to 3,370. The designs feature three to four bedrooms, two to four bathrooms, and a two- to three-car garage. Prospective homeowners can preselect their preferred floor plan and lot, and work with Davidson Homes to personalize finishes.
“We have six new home plans designed specifically for the Houston market,” says Jim Rorison, Davidson Homes’ Houston division president. “We’ve focused on creating open floor plans with an exceptional use of space for today’s home buyers. These plans feature outstanding kitchens and owner suites, with all plans offering generous covered outdoor living spaces as standard.”
The first of those homes will be completed in January 2022.
