Behind the Numbers:
A $350.7 million tax benefit artificially inflated Toll’s bottom line in the fourth quarter. However, even after taking that away, the Horsham, Penn.–based builder’s quarterly profit was still an impressive $60.7 million, four times greater than the same quarter in 2011. Toll’s deliveries and sales numbers also told a story of success for both its fourth quarter and its fiscal year, which ended Oct. 31.
