Among the newest additions to the GE Profile line for 2021 is the Smart Slide-In Range, a 30-inch, front-control induction appliance designed to incorporate a wide range of high-tech cooking functions and smart features.
A Wi-Fi-enabled in-oven cook cam allows users to livestream the inside of their oven to any smart device, enabling them to check on the status of their oven from anywhere. This feature is designed for upgradeability over time, including eventual AI integration.
The metal knob on the induction cooktop is the precision cooktop sensor, which enables users to set a burner to a precise temperature using either the LCD control panel or the SmartHQ app. When paired with the app’s guided cooking video capabilities, the sensor can also function as cooktop “autopilot,” adjusting temperatures and other settings as needed. A spring-loaded thermistor confirms contact with the bottom of the pan, and accommodates more than 30 different pan types.
The cooktop is sous vide enabled, and the oven features a no-preheat air fry mode, available without the need for additional cookware.
“GE Profile incorporates smart home technology and innovative features into every appliance to make daily life simpler, changing the game in your kitchen and beyond,” says Todd Getz, executive brand director of GE and GE Profile at GE Appliances.
The new GE Profile range will be available in April at a suggested retail price of $3,999. geappliancesco.com
