Nagoya, Japan-based manufacturer Rinnai Corporation has set its sights on opening a new North American manufacturing facility in the town of Griffin, Georgia. This facility would not only be the first in North America for Rinnai, but also the first to produce tankless gas water heaters in North America.
Rinnai will begin its manufacturing and assembly options in an existing Griffin factory in April 2018, and move a new, 300,000 square foot facility when it is complete. Beyond tankless water heaters, other products manufactured onsite will include kitchen appliances and heating/cooling units.
Frank Windsor, Rinnai’s COO, hopes that the manufacturer’s new presence in Griffin will spur the local economy and create jobs for its residents.
“Rinnai America is bullish about building a factory in America and is exceptionally proud to show our industry leadership,” says Windsor. “Rinnai is dedicated to product and technology innovation that exceeds the expectations of our dealers, installers, customers and consumers.”
The factory site is close to Rinnai America Corporation headquarters in Peachtree City, Georgia. Over the next few years, Rinnai also plans to construct a new two-story headquarters and launch a North America Innovation and Training Center.
“As the industry leader, Rinnai has consistently invested in consumer marketing to drive awareness to the tankless water heater category,” Windsor says. “Our investment in our new innovation center and headquarters expansion in Peachtree City and now in manufacturing operations in Griffin further demonstrates our commitment to driving category growth in North America.”
