Last month, Foster + Partners unveiled its first bath collection for Porcelanosa at the CERSAIE International Exhibition of Ceramic Tile and Bathroom Furnishings in Bologna, Italy.

Dubbed TONO, the range includes two collections: Elements and One. TONO Elements features more than 100 pieces including mirrors, integrated timber storage units and benches, as well as basins, bidets, and baths in various finishes. TONO One—the range’s prefabricated line—offers three prefabricated units (a shower, a sink, and a toilet) that allow for ease of installation and a fully-integrated system that’s flexible enough to be added into existing spaces.

In the same vein as Foster + Partners previous industrial product design collaborations, the pieces in both TONO collections are designed with a minimal, refined aesthetic that emphasizes natural forms and materials. Details are kept to a minimum, and the pieces are designed to work cohesively with one another or to stand alone.

“Working together with Porcelanosa, a global bathroom manufacturer with expertise across a number of products and materials, we have designed an integrated range of bathroom furnishings, whose minimalist aesthetic brings to the fore an honesty of material, simplicity of form and the craft of manufacture,” said Mike Holland, head of industrial design at Foster + Partners in a release.

Though TONO marks their collaboration on a line of bathroom fixtures, the two companies have worked together before: Porcelanosa’s expansive New York City flagship store, designed by Foster + Partners, opened in 2015.
