U.S. homeowners tend to be leery of handheld shower fixtures. They might assume they won’t get robust water pressure or that they’ll get an institutional look while not realizing the conveniences like staying dry while washing a child’s or dog’s hair or easily rinsing the tub. Kohler’s new iPhone app enables builders, architects, and interior designers to show clients how a handheld fixture looks and works without any commitment. Free to download, the app presents the Flipside showerhead complete with streaming video of the fixture’s four spray options. Users flip through the water flow settings with the same motion they’d use on the actual showerhead. On each spray screen an info button displays a description of that particular water flow experience, the product specs, and installation instructions. The app also has a video that shows the Flipside in use from various angles on each of the spray types, and a store locator function lists contact details for the nearest distributors.
