The patent-pending Privacy Barn Door Lock by INOX aims to eliminate the need for exterior locking hardware, as it installs inside the door jamb and not on the door itself. Most other locking options for barn doors are limited to hooks, chains, or other exterior hardware.

The locking mechanism features a one-inch bolt, which is activated by a thumb turn from the inside of the room. A variety of thumb turns are available, including ADA-compliant turns. The strike features a spring-loaded dust cover and an emergency release on the outside of the door.

“Barn doors remain a strong trend given their Old World charm, variety of design styles and space-saving efficiency, yet we found that there wasn’t a true locking mechanism that could offer seamless design as well as reliable privacy,” says Jeff Howes, President of INOX. “We responded to this market need by inventing our industry-exclusive Privacy Barn Door Lock. Architects, designers and homeowners can finally add a lock to their barn door that guarantees both superior privacy and a beautiful design aesthetic.”

The lock is available in six finishes: Bright Stainless Steel, Satin Stainless Steel, Satin Brass, Satin Chrome, Oil Rubbed Bronze and Graphite Black. www.inoxproducts.com
