The patent-pending DesignGlide Barn Door system by Jeld-Wen can be used to convert a new or salvaged door into a sliding barn door in just a few steps. It can be installed in any standard-sized interior door frame, with no reframing or custom doors required.
The product makes it easy for builders and remodelers to achieve one of the trendiest looks this season: farmhouse-style interiors.
Jeld-Wen’s DesignGlide system includes an accent rail that attaches to the top and bottom of a door, as well as soft-close hardware which allows the door to slide easily without slamming.
“Our customers want living spaces that are truly customized and reflect their unique personality. One of the ways we help them achieve this is by focusing on products and solutions that deliver possibilities,” says Jim Parello, Jeld-Wen’s vice president of marketing. “With DesignGlide hardware, we open the door for homeowners to incorporate the form and functionality of barn doors in a range of designs.”
The DesignGlide Barn Door system can be used to separate two rooms or conceal storage. It is complementary to rustic, contemporary, and modern craftsman aesthetics, the company says.
