Sometimes being fashionably late is cool—especially when you’re an A-list celebrity—but there is something to be said for being early: Birds catch more worms; Black Friday shoppers get the best deals; and, because you are a BUILDER reader, you get the scoop on the cool stuff being introduced at next February’s International Builders’ Show.

It’s year three of a four-year stint in Orlando, Fla., and manufacturers are working hard to wow you with shiny widgets and state-of-the-art gizmos. This is good news since the market slowdown has likely left you in need of cool stuff to help motivate buyers who are harder to impress.

The products run the gamut, from those that help you build faster and more efficiently to those that will delight your buyers. Weyerhaeuser, which recently launched iLevel for the residential structural frame industry, is unveiling a TimberStrand laminated strand lumber beam, for example, that accepts larger holes.

Georgia-Pacific will unveil Plytanium DryPly plywood that absorbs up to 40 percent less water than other panels. And for your buyers, Lasertron’s cool stainless steel doors have a special finish that mimics a variety of wood tones from mahogany to yellow oak.

This is only a smattering of all the cool stuff that will be at the show, so you will still have to attend. But because you got the low-down early, you won’t miss a thing, even if you arrive fashionably late.
