Legrand’s two smart lighting collections, the radiant Collection RF and the adorne Collection Wi-Fi Lighting System, are now compatible with voice control-enabled smart home devices, including Google Home and Amazon’s Echo and Dot.
In order to connect Legrand’s lighting with a compatible voice control device, home owners must have the Legrand LC7001 Whole House Lighting Controller, an integrated Samsung ARTIK™ Cloud account, and either radiant or adorne switches or dimmers. Users can search for “Samsung ARTIK Cloud Optimized for Smart Home” in their Amazon Alexa or Google Home apps, and follow the instructions from there to connect the systems.

Once connected, customers can ask Google or Alexa to power or dim lights without any interaction with a phone or tablet. They can choose to fine-tune their lighting control with either the Google Home or Alexa smart device apps, which allow them to name individual light fixtures, schedule on/off times for these individual lights, schedule particular light scenes by time of day, or set voice commands for particular configurations.
“Our goal is to offer users the simplicity of connecting to our products any way they prefer. We want homeowners who enjoy the convenience of using Amazon Alexa or the Google Assistant in their homes to have the same options for controlling their lights, too,” says Fritz Werder, VP and general manager of Legrand’s On-Q and Nuvo lines.
