Homeowners enjoy the warmth and cozy atmosphere of a gas fireplace, but a protective screen, which is required for all gas fireplaces for heat protection, can take away from the comforting aesthetic.

The new Napoleon Luxuria Linear Series gives homeowners the look they desire while keeping them safe and protected. The company’s proprietary Dynamic Heat Control and Glass Guard Systems cover the flames of a six-foot-long fireplace with clear glass that is safe to touch, and remains cool to protect pets or small children from getting burned. The Dynamic Heat Control and Glass Guard Systems quietly redirect heat from the fireplace opening, which eliminates the need for an unsightly mesh safety screen, without impacting the look of the flames. The heat redirection still works even in the event of a power outage.

The line offers four different sizes ranging from 38 to 74 inches long, and in single sided or See Thru configurations, and is available in natural gas or propane with up to 50,000 BTUs. Since the units redirect heat, any number of combustible framing finishes can be used to create customized designs.

Heat redirection and cool touch glass also expands the possibilities for positioning the fireplace, which has previously been subject to regulation. Challenges like heat sensitive electrical equipment or rooms like the kitchen that often overheat are not concerns with the technology, and fireplaces can be placed virtually anywhere in the home.
