Legrand’s new Wiremold residential floor box kits aim to meet modern power needs with outlets and USB charging stations that mount directly into residential flooring without interrupting the look and feel of the space.
As open concept floor plans have become more popular, furniture placement has moved away from the corners and walls where power outlets are usually distributed. This can mean that power isn’t always at hand in a home’s living spaces, which can lead to cord management issues such as tripping hazards.
The kits are available in two varieties, the rectangular Dual Outlet Floor Box Kit and the circular USB Charger & Outlet Floor Box Kit, and two surface finishes, Nickel and Brass. These choices allow homeowners to choose the color that best suits their home décor. Both Wiremold boxes are constructed from PVC, and will fit in any floor type with wooden subfloors, including carpet, tile, natural stone and wood. Most components required for installation are included in each kit.
The USB Charger and Outlet Floor Box Kit requires a 4” hole saw for installation. Its 5 5/8-inch cover allows easier installation in rough openings, and the recessed receptacle can hide most kinds of cords. legrand.com
