Deckorators, a brand of Universal Forest Products, Inc., introduced its new Fastendry system at DeckExpo 2017. This system combines weatherproofing and deck board fastening into one solution, allowing users to create under-deck “dry zones” faster and more easily. This “dry zone” can be used as additional living or storage space, allowing home owners to maximize their outdoor square footage.

The polymer Fastendry strip is available in black 12-, 16-, and 20-foot lengths. It is designed to fit around the edges of Deckorators composite decking. It forms a water-tight seal which prevents rain, snow, and other debris from passing through the spaces between the boards. It also features nail flanges which allow for efficient fastening during installation.

“Many weatherproofing systems are time-consuming to install and secondary to a deck project itself,” says Chris Camfferman, category marketing director for Deckorators. “With the labor and cost savings Fastendry brings, contractors have the opportunity to upsell dry zones and help more clients make the most of their outdoor space.”

The Fastendry system is covered by a 25-year limited warranty. www.deckorators.com
