Hardscapes and Pavers by Concreteworks

1 MIN READ

When potential customers approach Concreteworks’ founder Mark Rogero with questions about his custom hardscapes, he’s quick to make sure everyone is on the same page. “There are a lot of pavers out there, and really good-value pavers out there,” he cautions. “We may not be the best fit.”

That may sound like poor salesmanship, but considering the product’s cost and the complexity of its fabrication at the company’s pricey California address, the frank talk is essential. Even so, there is brisk demand for Rogero’s rarefied products, including highly custom colors, finishes, dimensions, and materials. Working in traditional concrete, glass-fiber reinforced concrete, or ductal, Rogero also can tailor design and composition to meet demanding project requirements: a client whose 1,500 square feet of terrace pavers couldn’t weigh more than 12 pounds per square foot, for example.

Treads and pavers aren’t Concreteworks’ only specialty. The studio and its sibling venture on the East Coast are perhaps best known for custom concrete countertops, in addition to decorative planters, indoor and outdoor fireplaces, and claddings and screens for commercial and residential applications.
