SIPschool Hosts Symposium for CAD Operators

In an effort to bring CAD operators out of isolation and create a supportive atmosphere of camaraderie and education, the SIPschool will hold the first annual SIP Design Symposium Aug, 31–Sept. 2, 2009, at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center in Shepherdstown, W.Va. Targeted to design professionals and CAD operators who work on production drawings, shop drawings, architectural designs, and engineering designs using structural insulated panels (SIPs), the symposium will feature presentations by Chaleff and Rogers, Architects; Dietrich Metal Framing; PanelWrights; Panel Pros; and other industry experts.

A variety of educational tracks also will be offered on topics such as plotting tips and techniques, demystifying seismic engineering, customizing CAD software, code updates, optimization, basic engineering for SIP design, and more.

A SIP Design Competition also will be held, with all entries showcased and judged during the symposium and the winner announced on Sept. 2. For more information on the 2009 SIP Design Symposium and design competition, visit www.sipschool.org.
