Cambria
Cambria has launched a new, 6mm quartz slab surface thickness—the equivalent of three stacked nickels—as a complement to its existing 1cm, 2cm and 3cm formats.
This extra-thin quartz format is designed to meet the needs of commercial clients, who often encounter weight sensitivities in applications like health care, furniture, and luxury transportation, and to offer design versatility for residential projects. The slabs also meet consumer demand for extra-thin countertops, and may be used as cladding options for walls, ceilings, fireplaces, backsplashes, or shower and tub surrounds, among many other applications.
“We’re excited to be leading the quartz industry not only with new technology and award-winning designs, but with revolutionary products and innovation,” says Arik Tendler, chief sales officer for Cambria. “The 6mm product is the perfect opportunity to use Cambria designs in any weight-sensitive implementations. We cannot wait to get this product into the market as we are confident the demand is there.”
At launch, the 6mm slab will available in a choice of 10 existing Cambria designs—White Cliff, Whitehall, Swanbridge, Ella, Portrush, Brittanicca Warm, Skara Brae, Carrick, Buxton, and Blackpool Matte—as well as two finishes, high gloss and Cambria Matte. The product works with mitered or reverse mitered edge profiles only, or Z profiles for exposed edges. It is certified NSF-51 safe for food preparation, Declare certified, and GREENGUARD Gold certified for low VOC emissions. cambriausa.com
