Neolith is adding a new sintered stone pattern, Calacatta Luxe, to its catalog of surfaces inspired by the look and feel of Italian Carrara marble.
According to the manufacturer, Calacatta Luxe “[turns] up the contrast” on previous Calacatta patterns, with bold veining in dark gray, blue, brown and gold on a bright white background. It is based on a “model” Carrara stone from Tuscany, and incorporates elements of previous Calacatta Crema and Calacatta Oro patterns.
Calacatta Luxe is available for all interior and exterior applications, and recommended for use in countertops, furniture, or floors. Like all Neolith sintered stone, it is made from a mix of granite materials, glass minerals and natural oxides subjected to high heat and pressure. This composition and process provide hardness, strength, and stability to the surface, according to the manufacturer.
Launching alongside Calacatta Luxe is Neolith’s new Ultrasoft surface finish. The finish is designed to mimic the feel of clean cut and unpolished natural marble, made in response to a trend toward tactile surfacing materials. It is currently only available for the Calacatta Luxe surface, but will launch in other Neolith patterns and colors through 2020.
The surface is available in both Ultrasoft and Polished finishes, 1/2 and 1/4-inch thicknesses, and two slab formats: 125 by 64 inches and 125 by 60 inches. neolith.com
