Ragno Barnwood Tile Ventures Where Wood Can’t Go

Bring the look of reclaimed wood into the bathroom and elsewhere thanks to 3D printed porcelain tile

1 MIN READ

While real wood wouldn’t survive as bathroom flooring or a kitchen backsplash, tile can. Ragno USA’s Barnwood 6-by-24-inch plank tiles replicate the patina, graining, and natural imperfections of weathered wood with the help of high-tech inkjet printing. The 3D printing approach allows the porcelain tile to exhibit depth and layering within each of the four available tile colors. The effect is reminiscent of worn paint layers on old barn wood.

The Barnwood palette comprises comprises three neutrals – ash, barley, and pearl – as well as a blend mixing all three tones. The collection offers frost- and impact-resistance making it suitable for residential or commercial installation, indoors or out. In addition to high-traffic areas, the maker suggests unique settings such as spas, showers, patios, backsplashes, steam rooms, and exterior walls as installation options, since the product causes little concern over freeze-thaw issues, mold and mildew, or general deterioration that natural wood would experience in these settings.

Other Barnwood features include 21% recycled content and no VOCs. View a slideshow of installations and color swatches at left. Ragno USA | 888.297.2466 | ragnousa.com
