New Bi-Fold Door Inspires Upgrades for Outdoor Living

Western Window Systems says homeowners that opt for a wide-span door are more likely to add other outdoor living enhancements.

In response to sustained demand for indoor-outdoor living spaces, Western Window Systems has added the Series 9500 Bi-Fold Door to its Volume Program. Developed for companies building more than 50 units annually, the Volume Program offers 10-day lead times and competitive pricing.

“Adding the Bi--Fold door option was the next logical step in this program,” said WWS President Jason Funk. “Builders have been clear in their desire to offer this kind of door to homebuyers. The demand this program has been serving is one fo the biggest reasons we have quadrupled in size in the last few years and by continuing to offer new products, we expect to see that growth continue for a long time.”

Architects and lower-volume builders can also take advantage of the Series 9500 Bi-Fold, which are assembled by hand and feature narrow door styles to maximize glass expanses and the views they afford. The narrow stiles, along with a concealed locking system integrated into the door, offer a clean and contemporary aesthetic available in dozens of finishes including 10 woodgrains.

Engineered to fold away and stack against side walls, the doors let designers integrate a swing door for everyday use as an entryway, while also being able to open the entire system up to 30 feet wide to take advantage of indoor/outdoor living. The panels can measure up to 12 feet tall.

For those interested in taking advantage of purchasing in quantity, Western Window Systems says the Volume Program for the company’s wide-span doors has become a valuable profit center that has led homebuyers to opt for additional upgrades, including pavers and outdoor kitchens.
