Simpson Strong Tie’s DGH fire wall hanger, newly released in July 2017, is now available in skewed or offset options for multi-family applications. Customers may select hangers with a skewed angle of up to 45 degrees or with the top flange offset left or right, though the two options may not be combined.

“As soon as we released the new fire wall hanger series in July, we immediately turned our attention to developing these two special options. We listened to customer feedback about the strong need to offer solutions for the two most common nonstandard connections they encounter on the jobsite,” says Sam Hensen, vice president and general manager for Connectors and Lateral Systems at Simpson Strong-Tie.

The DG fire wall hanger series is designed to connect floor trusses and joists to wood stud walls. All models install on two-hour wood stud fire walls during framing, and include enough space for two layers of 5/8” gypsum wall board. The hangers have passed ASTM E814 testing and received flame and temperature ratings for use on one or both sides of a wall.
