1 MIN READ

IceStone surfacing is made from 75 percent post-consumer recycled glass and 25 percent concrete, pigment, and binding agents, and it has a chemical composition that is 99.5 percent inorganic with no volatile organic compounds, according to the manufacturer. The terrazzo-like surfacing is designed for use in a variety of applications, including counters, vanity tops, flooring, wall surfaces, and bath and shower surrounds. Because of its high recycled content, IceStone is eligible for LEED qualification.

Twenty standard colors are available, and custom colors can be created. The manufacturer says that IceStone is strong like granite, less porous than marble, and heat resistant and pressure rated at 13,000 pounds per square inch. Slabs are cut and installed like natural stone and are 1¼ inches thick. IceStone. 718.624.4900. www.icestone.biz.
