Generac Power Systems’ Guardian Plus automatic home standby generators are UL-listed and provide emergency electrical power to a home’s critical power systems during power outages, even when no one is home. Guardian Plus air-cooled standby generators run on a home’s natural gas or liquid propane gas lines. An automatic transfer switch constantly monitors incoming voltage from the main utility line and senses when power is interrupted. The switch signals the generator to start, closes off the utility line, and opens a new power line from the generator.
The Guardian Plus generator supplies electricity to the critical emergency circuits of the home—light, heat, communications—while the transfer switch continues to monitor utility line conditions. When the utility line voltage returns at a steady rate, the switch re-transfers the electrical load back to the utility line and resumes monitoring for any further loss. Every seven days, an automatic exerciser tests the power-generating system to maintain operating condition.
Three models are available, providing 8-, 10-, and 12-circuit protection, each with a pre-wired automatic transfer switch.
In addition to the standard internal 12-volt outlet and round-the-clock monitoring, the generators also feature an external 120-volt GFCI duplex outlet that allows a variety of day-to-day utilitarian usages, such as running corded power tools or lawn equipment. 888.436.3722. www.guardiangenerators.com.
