Industrial designers Ted Pierson and former business partner Tom Gordon realized they had never seen a doorbell they liked. So they created a company, spOre, to produce sleek, modern doorbells with integrated LED lighting. “On other doorbells you’d notice that glaring hot spot of light,” says co-owner Lily Pierson. “Our products are completely designed for aesthetic and functional purposes.”
Bold designs characterize spOre’s stock products, which combine square- and circle-shaped metal faceplates with brightly colored resin push buttons. Its newest offering, True, is made exclusively of metal, with a thin ring of light circling the push button. Three lighting colors and an illumination-free version are available.
