Texas Builder Offers Safes Standard

More buyers are looking for a place to keep valuables such as jewelry, firearms, and documents.

The need for a dedicated place to store valuables, guns, and important documents is growing with home buyers. For instance, bank branches that provide access to safe deposit boxes on nights and weekends often have long waiting lists and the NRA estimates that only 20% of gun owners have a gun safe.

A North Texas builder now offers homes safes standard with its new homes. Dallas-based First Texas Homes has partnered with Safe & Secure Home Solutions to offer new home buyers Browning Home Safes as a standard new home inclusion. With 1,014 closings, First Texas was No. 43 on last year’s Builder 100 list of the top builders in the country.

In-home safes are quickly becoming a necessity for personal safety and a convenient addition for new home buyers. The safe keeping of treasured valuables, important papers, prescription medication, and weapon storage are becoming a requirement for new and existing home buyers, says Keith Hardesty, First Texas division president.

The safe will be placed within the home based on the buyer’s desired location, on-site delivery, and installation, bolted down and warrantied to the buyer. First Texas home buyers will also have the option to upgrade their safe to a larger, fireproof model.
