SKILSAW has announced two updated worm drive saws for 2018: the 7-Inch MEDUSAW™ Walk Behind Worm Drive Saw for Concrete, an update of the existing MEDUSAW, and the 16-5/16-Inch Magnesium Super SawsquatchTMWorm Drive Saw, a larger version of the existing Sawsquatch saw.
The MEDUSAW Walk Behind is designed as a concrete scoring solution for large-scale applications. Much like its predecessor, it incorporates a wet/dry dust management system and a powerful DualField worm drive motor with added overload protection. The walk-behind configuration incorporates an adjustable arm that extends to the user’s height, plus a larger handle and two-finger trigger for greater control on long cuts. Both the MEDUSAW and MEDUSAW walk behind help users meet OSHA silica exposure limits.
The Super Sawsquatch is SKILSAW’s largest ever saw, with a 16-5/16-inch, 32-tooth blade and a 6-1/4-inch cutting capacity. It also operates on a 15 Amp DualField motor, plus SKILSAW’s worm drive gearing. Taken together, these features provide greater capacity and performance on heavy-duty tasks.
According to SKILSAW, the Super Sawsquatch can cut most engineered lumber, 6X and beams in one pass. “According to Allied Market Research, by 2022, the engineered lumber demand is expected to grow to more than $41 billion,” says Jason Schickerling, Director of Product Development at SKILSAW. “We’re committed to following industry trends like this to anticipate jobsite needs and manufacture tough tools that stand up to tough projects.”
The MEDUSAW Walk Behind will be available in January at World of Concrete 2018, while the Super Sawsquatch will debut in March 2018. www.skilsaw.com
