With the start of a new year comes a new innovation in construction tools.
In the first-of-its-kind for the industry, Empire Levels has introduced the first auto-calibrated digital level. The e105 Series True Blue Digital Box Levels are ready to measure as soon as they are powered on and immediately provide a precise digital readout after auto-calibrating.
Current digital levels require manual calibration, which can have a large margin of error if not done properly. The new auto-calibration technology increases accuracy when measuring a surface. The level has seven measuring display modes and can make measurements in degree-tenths, degree-hundredths, mm/M or percentage, or take rough-in mode measurements in degrees, inches and foot fractions or inches and foot decimals.
The levels have an IP65 rating for water and dust protection, shock absorbing removable endcaps, precision milled edges, solid block acrylic e-Band vials, and an inspect mode for repeat inspection-grade measurements and code-specific applications such as ADA ramps or entrances.
The levels are available in magnetic and non-magnetic models and feature an audio indicator that outputs a continuous tone when in level, dual backlit displays, a hold function that allows the user to lock measurements in position for verification an overhead inverted display, top read digital display, surface grippers, and a tilt indicator.
“Whether the user is double checking that an angle is within code before an inspection, or using the audible indication for hands-free operation, a digital level is in almost every professional’s arsenal of tools because of their incredible versatility and accuracy,” said Rick Gray, Sr. VP and GM for Empire Level in a news release.
The levels range in price from $99-$199 and vary by model.
