TYTAN has followed up its anti-screw pop Drywall High Yield Adhesive with the TYTAN Subfloor High Yield Adhesive, which is specifically formulated to eliminate squeaky floors.
The adhesive formula provides the strength, durability, and construction adhesive environmental compliance benefits of polyurethane cartridge adhesives, along with the speed and cost-savings of foam adhesives. It creates a bond up to two times stronger than competing subfloor adhesives, according to the manufacturer, which prevents squeaks by eliminating stress on subfloor fasteners.
One 29-ounce can of TYTAN Subfloor High Yield Adhesive has the same usable life as 12 28-ounce traditional adhesive cartridges, according to the manufacturer. It is formulated for use on OSB, plywood, treated lumber, composite decking, and many other subflooring and construction materials. It is HUD tested for shear-wall, non-shear wall, and floor applications, and meets and exceeds ASTM D3498 adhesive performance requirements.
“Gaps or imperfections in the floor joists cause fasteners to become loose and ‘squeak’ as they rub up and down,” says Drew Robinson, marketing manager at Selena USA. “TYTAN Subfloor High Yield Adhesive actually fills the gap instead of simply trying to bond the materials – reducing stress on fasteners – which leads to reliable squeak prevention. Plus, it will cure in a variety of temperature extremes to remain securely bonded.”
The TYTAN Subfloor High Yield Adhesive is available in 20 ounce cans with straw applicators, or in a 29 ounce professional can for gun applicators. www.tytan.com
