Cold Columns The Freedom collection of refrigerator and freezer columns allows built-in refrigeration to be placed nearly anywhere in the kitchen. Fresh food columns come in 24- and 30-inch models and freezer columns come in 18-, 24-, and 30-inch models. Also available are dispenser freezers in 18 and 24 inches, as well as a 36-inch bottom freezer, available with two doors or in a French-door model.
Each column has its own compressor and an evaporator that eliminates odor transfer between compartments and regulates interior temperatures with a variance of only 1.5 degrees F. The manufacturer says this system also helps preserve fresh foods longer. Units incorporate the maker’s Freedom Hinge, which allows each column to be fully flush-mounted to cabinetry while still providing full access to the interior. The hinges open the column doors up to 115 degrees, and can also accommodate custom panels weighing up to 220 pounds. A motorized interior shelf in the fresh food column can be repositioned while fully loaded up to a 20-pound capacity at the touch of a button.
