Ready for Backup The Intelligent Load Center integrates Kohler Power Systems’ automatic transfer switch into Square D’s QO electrical load distribution enclosure. Providing 38 to 40 circuits, the two-in-one load center makes a home generator-ready but requires less electrical work from builders and subs by eliminating the need to install a second distribution panel and additional wiring to accommodate a stand-by generator.
Kohler’s transfer switch monitors utility power for any interruptions and automatically transfers pre-determined electrical components to the generator, which restores power within 10 seconds. When utility power is restored, the transfer switch re-transfers the electrical load back to the utility source and shuts the generator down.
The Intelligent Load Center also offers in-home remote monitoring and generator control capabilities and gives the homeowner manual control over which electrical loads are supported by the available generator capacity.
